Django lesen

Ich weiß nicht, ob ich das schon einmal hatte: Das Django-Buch gibt es jetzt in einer freien Online-Version, um dem Python-basierten Web-Application-Framework eine größere Verbreitung zu geben. Wer — wie ich — zum bequemen Lesen in der U-Bahn eine Fassung zwischen zwei Pappedeckel bevorzugt, kann das Buch natürlich weiterhin bei Amazon kaufen. Mathematik mit Zope

Multimedia mit der Schlange

Thomas hat Recht: Auch wenn es keine wirkliche Alternative zu PyGame ist (andere Zielrichtung), sollte ich das unbedingt einmal testen: pyglet ist eine cross-platform (Windows, MacOS X und Linux) Graphik- und Multimedia-Bibliothek für Python.

Im Gegensatz zu PyGame gibt es in der Regel keine externen Abhängigkeiten, alles ist Python pur. Die Dokumentation scheint auch schon ziemlich ausgereift zu sein und zusammen mit SimPy ergibt es vermutlich ein phantastitisches Simulations- und Visualisierungs-Tool. Soviel zu testen, so wenig Zeit...

Python statt JavaScript

Pyxer (GPL) ist ein Python-AJAX-Server und -Framework, ähnlich dem Jaxter-Projekt von Aptana (hier nur mit Java). Es erlaubt, Client- wie auch Server-seitig den Einsatz von Python-Scripten. Diese werden dann vom Server nach JavaScript übersetzt. Das AJAX-Framework läuft transparent im Hintergrund. Sollte ich mal testen. [Peter van I. per Email.]
