Django, das in Python geschriebene Web-Application-Framework steht schon lange auf meiner Liste der noch zu testenden Software. Nun gibt es eine Gallery Site, die Applikationen listet, die mit Django erstellt wurden. Etliche davon machen Lust auf mehr. [O'Reilly Radar]

PIDA »is an IDE (integrated development environment). PIDA is different from other IDEs in that it will use the tools you already have available rather than attempting to reinvent each one. Parallel Procssing mit der Schlange

Papyros »is a small platform independent parallel processing Python package, providing a master-slave model. Clients can submit jobs to a master object which is monitored by one or more slave objects that do the real work. Two main implementations are provided, one using multiple threads and one multiple processes in one or more hosts (through Pyro). The primary design goal is simplicity: a user can replace a time consuming loop in a single-thread single-process program with the equivalent parallel version in a few lines of code, with minimal boilerplate overhead.« [Daily Python-URL! Noch'n Template Toolkit (diesmal mit der Schlange)

Kid ist ein einfaches, in  Python geschriebenes Template-Toolkit für XML-basierte Sprachen (wie z.B. (X)HTML ). Die Beispiele sehen sehr gut aus und das Tool scheint auch zur Generierung statischer Seiten geeignet zu sein (also durchaus eine Alternative zum Perl Template Toolkit). Sollte ich daher dringend einmal testen... [Noch einmal Peter van I. per Email.]

Videokonvertierung automatisieren (mit der Schlange)
